Where to start writing when you see Piobbico, a hidden treasure somewhere on the border between Le Marche and Umbria? The small ,,borgo” is a collection of about thirty Renaissance houses and the San Pietro church with the square, from which a small window with view on the surrounding nature and mountains pops up, as Giorgio Donini announces in the movie (cfr. infra). From the square you can climb unto the castle of the mighty Brancaleoni family. The castle complex on its own is as big as the whole ,,borgo”. Fascinating is the nature invading the borgo, especially because the houses are built with stone originating from the mountains: red, rose, white, milky limestone varieties in different shades.
